Moulds Allergy Test (IgE 15)

Are you living with a Mould allergy?
IgE is a protein that is normally found in very small amounts in the blood, and functions as part of the body's immune system. When IgE antibodies recognise an allergen, it can cause the release of histamine and other chemicals that result in an allergic reaction. Symptoms of a mould allergy are varied and can include respiratory symptoms (including asthma and chronic sinus infections) or skin reactions or irritation. Symptoms may be worse in certain rooms, during wet weather, or after exposure to musty environments. Unlike pollen allergies which are seasonal, mould exposure can be year-round depending on your living or working conditions.

This panel screens IgE antibodies against 15 clinically significant mould species including Aspergillus fumigatus, Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium herbarum, Penicillium notatum, and Candida albicans. These are the moulds most commonly associated with allergic respiratory disease and hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
Positive results guide remediation efforts (addressing damp, improving ventilation) and can support referral to an allergy specialist for immunotherapy assessment if appropriate.
